In education, I would describe my unique qualification to be my broad range. I have an art degree and decades of filmmaking experience split between animation and live action. I have thrived in freelance & commercial work, community education, and degree education at large and small schools.
In a setting where each faculty member needs to wear several hats; I am fully qualified to teach animation, live action production, pre-production, design, set and prop construction, and many other subjects. In that way, a complete film / video department could be supported with a very small faculty with complimentary skills. In a setting where a specialty is needed that requires a broad knowledge (film, writing, art, design, performance) such as art direction, pre-production, storyboard, special effects and so on, I am uniquely qualified.
I have had almost two decades of teaching experience at several institutions. I have created new programs, new facilities, researched and prepared large capitol requests. I have created many classes and researched new methodology in animation. I have earned consistently high evaluations in classes that range from drawing and design set construction to 2-D computer animation, scriptwriting, preproduction character performance, and production workshops.
I continue to deepen my knowledge at every opportunity. I could be happy fitting into many different educational settings.
